First Day of Classes

Welcome back, students! Get ready to embark on an exciting journey as we kick off the first day of classes with enthusiasm and anticipation. Check out the fantastic resources and exciting information below to gear up for an unforgettable academic adventure!

Our first day of classes is Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and the school office is open to parents on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten plays an important role in engaging young children as active participants, building knowledge about themselves and the social and natural worlds.

Kindergarten students will have a staggered entry on September 2, September 3, and September 4. The first day when all Kindergarten students will attend together as a class starting Friday, September 5.

Parents will be notified by email sent via School Messenger with the time their child should attend during the Kindergarten staggered entry days.  A reminder about the staggered entry times will be sent out when the office reopens at the end of August. If you do not receive the School Messenger email with the staggered entry information, ensure that you have set up the MyCBE account and have subscribed toSchool Messengerin order to receive this information at the end of August.

Additional Information

Fun Lunch

Rideau Park School has a fun lunch program with voluntary participation.  Parents pre-order lunches via Healthy Hunger.

The Fun Lunch program is offered approximately every second Thursday through Healthy Hunger which includes lunch offerings from restaurants such as Subway, Edo Japan, and Coco Brooks Pizza.  Online orders for Healthy Hunger must be placed at least 5 days prior to the school delivery date.  

These lunch programs are fundraisers for the school and are organized by the School Council.  

Notice Regarding Overflow Designation for Kindergarten to Grade 9 Students Attending Rideau Park School

Rideau Park School is projected to be over capacity and will not be able to accommodate all students who live within the designated school boundary. Consequently, we will introduce a cap on enrolment at Rideau Park School and designate overflow schools for students in elementary and junior high grades.

Effective immediately, new registrations that cannot be accommodated at Rideau Park School will be overflowed to Chinook Park School or Woodman School, depending on the student’s grade. Please review the full notice for detailed information.
